with 6 pax, we queued damn long before we could get a table
ha, friday night, queues everywhere of cos
after dinner, Pui San & Amy then went home
while the rest of us (the data processin' department!) went carrefour to get some snacks
they were goin' Xingti's (from fieldwork department) house tonight!
i joined them in the end, haha
took a shuttle bus to cityhall station
then took a bus down to holland village to meet Xingti
her house is freakin' nice la
it's newly furnished
(she's a newly-wed!)
so clean, neat, uncluttered
also saw her weddin' album
oh man, it was beautiful!
feel like gettin' married already, haha!
& she has SO MANY movies stored in her laptop,
which is connected to her plasma tv
so we watched nanny mcphee
not a very nice show though
next she played meet the fockers
hoho, i've watched it before, so funny!
but we didn't finish watchin',
started chit-chattin' among ourselves
my colleagues are all REAL nice people! =)
i guess my motivation to go to work is - to meet these nice people!
it's quite surprisin' to find click-able people in an office environment
i initially thought office people are all stressed-up, only stone in front of their computers all day long, don't know how to talk cock + have fun
but my department has proven me wrong!
(of cos there are many of those standard colleagues too - standard office figures)
there are still people who are able to have fun with me as well!
took a cab home at close to 3am,
& reached home at close to 4am!!!

attended a meetin' for one of my projects!
hoho, but Adeline came along to guide me of cos
& Yongmin would be the team member from his department involved in this project too!
i realise i learn MORE (& remember better) when i learn from mistakes
i make them, then i learn from them
it's like, when you were young,
you were told not to touch boilin' water
so you tried to remember not to touch it
but you never know WHY couldn't you do so
(your mum told you it's HOT, but so?)
until one day, you accidentally (or forgot not to) touched it
then, you feel the pain
& i can be sure, you've learnt the reason behind it
mistakes serve as strong reminders
& they give you a bigger picture of why things are done this way sometimes
met up with Fabian at mac @ tiong bahru plaza
a friend i've known since i was 13! (it's been 9 years!)
he actually compiled all my insurance policies
& did a summary for me
as well as an personalised analysis for me too
by the way, he's workin' under great eastern currently

my god, i'm REAL tight on budget!

reached the office at 830am
& worked non-stop till 8pm+!

cos i helped Anvia & Rebecca check their stuff too
then we went home together!
instead of buyin' some proper dinner for myself

MUTHU'S CURRY!

who did not know about the incident last friday
here is a short show!

but work was fine today
felt occupied all the time - which was good
it was Mei Wen's (from the admin department) last day at J.D. Power
so a group of us went for lunch together - Meaw Chian (the admin lady), Anvia, Rebecca, me & Mei Wen herself of cos
Meaw Chian gave all of us a treat at rabbit brand seafood delicacies, which was juz nearby our office
i ordered the set which had japanese steamed egg (UPsized chawanmushi), shark's fin & rice
it was so YUMMY & dirt cheap - $5+!
there were also sets with scallops, abalone & other delicacies
which were all at very LOW prices
woohoo, cheap deal!
met Seok Chuan for dinner!
we're always out to try new places, new food! hoho
this time, we went to muthu's curry @ suntec city
woohoo, we both loved their MUTTON CURRY!
we even ordered a second set as one wasn't enough for us
=P

CHURCH SERVICE.
woke up so super late
was supposed to be at Vivi's church service, which was at expo (!!!), at 115pm
but i woke up at 1245pm!
OMG.
i really can't get up by myself
forgot to set my alarm clock too
still remembered when i hit the pillow last night,
i was tellin' myself to set the alarm clock

today's message was rather meaningful too
"healing the primal wounds of the heart"
the pastor said, there are 3 primal wounds of the heart::

which is quite true, isn't it?
i especially like the part when he talked about 'resentment'::

WHEW. which meant that my data tables had been approved by my senior manager!
finally, i could stop killin' trees
& on top of that,
the research directors in charge of this project had also approved!
i can say bye-bye to this finally!
didn't really have a sense of satisfaction
when i finally completed this small project

worked at spageddies today!
was supposed to work till 6pm only
but replaced Ben & worked all the way till closin'
i was such a clumsy klutz durin' the lunch shift
both incidents happened at the SAME place - the cheese fondue stands area
i was searchin' for the stenol that was full
& the first time - i accidentally pushed one stand over
& it landed on a customer on the other side
ahhhhhhhh
*faintx*
luckily he didn't really mind
second incident - also lookin' for a proper stenol
& i accidentally knocked down a display glass item
it made such a LOUD bang when it fell over
luckily it didn't break! whew.
& both happened within a 5min interval
PIANGX. what's wrong with me?!
then dinner shift kidda sucked
it was so freakin' busy! WHY?!
was my first time workin' with Angela here too
i really, really detest bein' ACCUSED of things that i didn't do
this is no.1 on my hates-list
bein' accused, bein' misunderstood
ARGH.
went for supper with Kai Feng, Zoey, Angela, QH, ZQ, Kah Kiat at youth park
love hangin' out with this bunch of kids, haha!

VIVI'S 21ST BIRTHDAY!
it's baobei Vivi's 21st birthday!!!
woke up so late at Wei Wei's house
that i had to rush home to take a shower & change
also went for a quick hair-cut (damn, not much difference)
met Seok Chuan & went singtel recreation club for Vivi's birthday party! =)
piangx, Vivi really has LOADS of friends, omg.
her primary schoolmates, secondary, poly, colleagues, church friends, sea sports camp friends, tioman trip friends, & MISC., haha
baobei, you looked stunnin' today! hoho
after the party,
Wei Wei, Seok Chuan, Angela, Wee Perng & i then headed to galilee & friends cafe for snacks
even played the retro UNO stacko game there, haha
Wee Perng then left to meet his friends
& Seok Chuan went home
while Angela & i accompanied Wei Wei to collect her serviced laptop
& went to her house AGAIN!
ever tried a MOS/zouk scene in a bedroom?
usin' chopsticks to eat tidbits?
haha!
Keith came & drove us to seletar reservoir to CHILL!

it's my second time there late at night
ah, shiok.

STAY OVER!
it's FRIDAY!
woo! i love fridays
able to wear jeans
& i can smell the weekend!!!
really, really look forward to weekends every week
met up with Wee Perng after work
had dinner at cineleisure
then caught the movie - cars!
it's such a feel-good movie
happy endings & heart-warmin' scenes, aww.
still couldn't beat findin' nemo though
hoho
there was no more train service when the movie ended
so we shared a cab down to geylang
then he drove me to Wei Wei's house

Angela was also at Wei Wei's house
we had chilli crabs (YUMX!) & drank corona (puke.)
while watchin' beautiful boxer on tv
was granted the permission to stay over at Wei Wei's house for the night!
WOOHOO!
can you believe it,
this is my FIRST time stayin' over at a friend's house?

i've never done it before
even had a good night's sleep

& i've received my FIRST project! =)
hope i'll do a good job out of it!
wanted to cut my hair
but sighx, i left the office so late
so i went to meet Wei Wei for dinner instead, hoho

it was a free ktv service at 8pm every weekday, hoho
the system was rather good
but i can't say much for the songs - so outdated
good enough though
we then went for supper at kopitiam @ youth park
i was lookin' for a toilet when we reached there
didn't want to cross the road juz to use the toilet at cineleisure
so..
Wei Wei: ask the stall-holders here la
Angela: orh.
& we were both quite surprised that Angela immediately turned around to ask one of the stall-holders
Angela then came back, tellin' us..
Angela: 2 o'clock
Wei Wei & i were like, HUH?
Wei Wei: what 2 o'clock?
Angela: (not understandin' what's so hard to get) 2 o'clock la! this place closes at 2 o'clock

2 really good things happened at work (@ spageddies) today::
ONE::
a customer asked for a comments card
i thought he juz wanna comment on the good food & service generally
but guess what?
he wrote
"Mei Qing - Very good service! Our first visit here, keep up the good job!"
somethin' like that i think
i didn't get to read it for long before it was taken away
TWO::
i was awarded the employee of the month (for the month of may)!!!
=D
i worked till 6pm today
at 530pm, there was a briefin' for the dinner shift people as usual
while the briefin' was still goin' on
Michelle asked me to join the briefin'
i was like,"huh? i'm workin' till 6pm lei"
but bein' the super-obedient girl, haha
i still went over, puzzled of cos
then while walkin' down the steps to that station,
my senior manager, Sebas, extended his hand to shake mine
everyone was applaudin' too
i was presented a certificate of recognition + $100 tangs voucher
this is the first time they are launchin' this monthly award
wahaha

to have japanese ramen at raffles place

ROAD TO RECOVERY
RECOVERED!!!
so glad to wake up to an ache-free body
which means - fever is gone! hoho
=D
my runny nose + cough still persist though
but those are ok; they don't kill!
worked the whole day at spageddies
(relax people, i'm fine already)
was the cashier the whole day as well
everythin' was quite smooth on my part
no ridiculous, demandin' customers
no wrong orders, no breakin' of stuff
no dumb actions
but was juz a little unhappy about how some of my colleagues worked
i'm not tryin' to be the i'm-the-super-duper-pro-staff here
but it's really a pain to work with people who are totally not alert (or who juz wanna geng?)
& who juz chit-chat non-stop, without realisin' that others have been doin' so many things?
argh.
please don't make me hate this job because of these people
it's juz not worth it.

VISITED A DOCTOR
woke up, still feelin' feverish
plannin' to go to work as usual
but the moment i wore my shoes
i knew i couldn't make it to the office alive
haha =xX
so i took off my shoes
& visited a doctor at raffles medical group @ lot 1
i was their first patient
he said if the fever persists till tomorrow
i'll have to come back tomorrow for a blood test (?!?)
the doctor prescribed lots of medicine for me - cough mixture, antibiotics, runny nose, paracetamol (= pandadol), lozenges (for sorethorat)
got home
& slept through the day
isn't it strange
i haven't fallen sick for the past few years
(or even if i do, i juz had to sleep a lot & i'll recover very quickly. this lasted for 3 days!)
i guess sittin' in an air-conditioned office for hours really can kill me
sighx
Yongmin said i've caught the WORLD CUP FEVER
ya right.

STILL ILL.
i thought after a good night's sleep
i would recover today
i was wrong
my temperature was staggerin' at 38-plus deg cel
it once shot up to 39.9 deg cel too
still went to work though
felt a little better after takin' panadol
but the fever came back again
a few hours after lunch
the office's air-con wasn't helpin'
i was shakin'
slept immediately
the moment i got home
but woke up at 1130pm
realised i haven't showered & changed
went for a quick shower
then continued sleepin'

i'm as good as dead
physically
feelin' very feverish right now
all the symptoms of fallin' ill have shown::
MY WHOLE BODY IS ACHIN' (this is, by far, the best indication), feelin' very cold but my breath is ultra-hot, coughin' like crazy too, my head weighs a tonne, my eyes burn when i close them, darn sleepy (yet i still can't resist goin' online), totally lethargic.
juz took my body temperature - 38.3 deg cel
alright, not that bad i guess
i will recover by tomorrow! =)

my day was not bad though! =)
at least work was good
had data tables to check
(duh, so borin', but it's better than nothin'!)
& updated the labels library
& most importantly,
i got to do a check for a set of test data!
at least it's not practice anymore! yippee.
was so happy to receive serious data to work on

MUSIC ROCKS MY WORLD!
what a borin' day at work
basically revisin' what i'd learnt

& i handed over the money & said,"thank you."
she looked pleasantly surprised, then said,"finally there's someone who responds."

she said everyone juz ignored her presence the entire day
i had to agree with her too
told her i'm also in the service line
that's why.

then went for dinner at moonfish

the whole restaurant was hardly occupied
not surprisin' though
after the fillin' dinner

15.5 HOURS IN THE OFFICE!

& the LAST to leave!

our data processin' department is so short of manpower!
& Anvia will be leavin' in july, boo.
she's one of the friendliest colleagues around lo
had a trainin' by Felicia for 3 hours
although i didn't sleep much last night
i didn't feel like dozin' off at all durin' the 3 hours!
cos she made me THINK THINK THINK
it was so engagin'

& muz really have a SUPER logical mind to process
kidda impressed by the depth & details they go into
why aren't schools teachin' us practical excel advanced functions & typin' SPSS syntax?
why teach us theories & more theories?
to give our brains a work-out?
they only make me brain-dead
i would rather learn the stuff i'm learnin' at work now
AT LEAST, i see them as skills that can be applied to REAL data in REALITY
theories have juz too many ridiculous assumptions,
that they juz can't be used in real life at all
stayed back till 1130pm

we went to ta-bao mac back to eat, hoho
since we worked till over 11pm
we could claim the cab fare!
